Southridge Saltwater Fishing Report

Many Southridgians found themselves in Port Aransas for the weekend. Everyone had seen the fishing forecast for the weekend and we were all excited to see what we would catch. Well to make a long story short, fishing sucked, plain & simple. I’ve never seen it suck so badly in my entire life. Suck isn’t even the accurate word for just how sucky it was.

The kids did have a great time learning how to use crab nets while the “fishermen” mumbled cuss words under their breath. (Frickin stupid fish) They found new and very inventive ways to get little blue crabs onto the beach. The kids also discovered hundreds of baby crabs hiding in oyster shells. The whole scene was something off of the Discovery Channel.

We found a restaurant that would seat 20 immediately and the choice for place to have dinner was made. Turned out the place was great. I had char grilled flounder and grilled shrimp while Jeff had a rib eye steak and grilled shrimp. YUMMY!!!!! We also had portabella fries as our appetizer, ok I’m ready to go back. I didn’t get to taste their fried shrimp because Teresa is stingy, but they looked amazing!! We all really enjoyed the food even though it took awhile to get everyone served. YUMMY!!! Thanks again to new friend Steve; we all really appreciate your generosity!!

Across the street from the restaurant is a restaurant/bar called La Playa which serves a ton of flavored tequila shots, which many found it difficult to turn down. The entertainment at Station Street Grill was far better than at La Playa though. Their version of “Born in the USA” made me a tad uncomfortable. I felt a little nervous that the singer was having some sort of attack due to her constant neck jerking. Turns out she just liked to twitch to the music.

The gang all gathered back at Pioneer RV Resort after dinner to enjoy the pool and hot tub. The Pioneer Police (PP) warned us several times from their golf cart, to keep it down. We had a couple of people in the group who had short term memory loss, so they got shushed many times.

On Sunday everyone made their way home and once back in Southridge we had just enough energy left to have a board meeting for dinner together and to rehash some of the more interesting points of the weekend. Topics included how to blow dry your buddy’s butt, not using a wet white shower curtain to try to hide your goodies, and something about Jeff passing out naked on the toilet and why Teresa really didn’t need to see all that.

We had a really great time and were so happy to see everyone we don’t get to see that often. Southridge also had a major victory in the form of a Kasey Kahne ice chest. Thanks Teresa for being so freakin hot, your effort is greatly appreciated! By the way, next time you grab my goodies, I’m gonna pull your top off for the entire world to see. Just kidding, I’m much too sweet to doo that; I’ll get someone else to do it.

We had a great time this weekend, eventhough the fishing blew like the damn wind. This is something the Southridge Society should do at least once a month, we don't need to be afraid of the Bandit if we all leave! LOL!!! Food was great & tequila was WOW!! Go KAHN!!!!

Well, I can't be outdone by not adding my usual comment. Maybe we'll beat the goal of 5 posts! This weekend was a great time--wish it didn't have to end. Also wish more of Southridge could have made it, maybe next time! In the meantime, guess we'll have to settle for Club Carpenter.

Awwwwww! That's so sweet Steve! We are all really glad we got to meet your ice chest, uh I mean you. Don't worry about that nasty Miller product Teresa drinks, we can convert her, make her stronger, make her better.
