This week our Jourdanton Indians played the Cotulla Cowboys. The preverbal battle against Cowboys and Indians ended a little different this time though. First let me say that our cheerleaders were more pumped for this game than any game I’ve seen this year. They were so funny jumping around and being silly all through the game. They even made up a new jump that they call the “Fish Out Of Water.” If you can imagine a marlin jumping out of the water, well that’s kinda what it looks like. I told you they were being silly. Around the second quarter our quarterback hurt his left hand and was pulled from the game. The interesting part of this story is that HIS TWIN BROTHER who is on defense, hurt his right hand and was pulled from the game in the third quarter. They always say twins have a special connection, but this is ridiculous! I hope that they get well soon and are able to play in Friday’s game against Three Rivers. The Indians crushed Cotulla with a score of 32 to 14. Keep up the great work guys!!
If you caught the header to my post this week, you’re probably wondering what that is all about. Let me start at the beginning. Friday night after we got home from the game in Cotulla, all the lights were out in Southridge. I texted Terri to find out where everyone was and surprise surprise, they were at the Oasis. I became suspicious of the water tampering by the Bandit when our fellow board members got home. Jeff started walking down to Tim & Terri’s, but was stunned to be attacked by a screaming Kelly and Janie. He looked quite frightened until the girls turned their attention to me standing in the drive way. I don’t know if I’ve ever been so frightened to get a hug in my life. These girls seemed like they had consumed something that made them a little rabid. Terri showed up a couple of seconds later and I think was the first to notice that Jessica was standing beside me witnessing the whole scene. What do you do when you notice that a kid just saw you accost her parents? You ask her to do a cheer of course. Jess seemed amused, but didn’t satisfy their request for entertainment. Jess retired to her room and Jeff & I walked down to Club Carpenter. Tim was relaxing in Terri’s recliner in the garage so I decided to go give him a hug hello. I leaned down and hugged him while I asked how he was doing. My suspicions of contamination were confirmed when Tim began to laugh very loudly at my question. The only reasonable explanation for their state of mind was for the Bandit to have contaminated something they had eaten or drank. Since it didn’t seem any of them had much to eat all day, I concluded that the Bandit Gang must have poured some substance into our water source for Southridge. Before bed I decided to watch “Gone Country.” I had recorded the season finale of the CMT show since we wouldn’t be getting home till 11:30 PM. If you have never seen this show, let me tell you a little about it. John Rich from the band Big & Rich has celebrities (use that term lightly) battle for the chance to record a country music song. This year’s contestants were Jermaine Jackson, Sean Young, Chris Kirpatrick, Makala Gordon, and the one and only Sebastian Bach from the 80’s band Skid Row. Now I’m the first to admit that I was a little obsessed with this guy at one point and time, but I didn’t think he had a shot to win since most 80’s metal guys get a bad rap these days. 80’s rock rules!!! Well thank goodness I was wrong. John Rich saw Sebastian’s obvious talent and gave him the title. Anyway, if you want to see the music video go to this link http://www.cmt.com/videos/sebastian-bach/280088/battle-with-the-bottle-gone-country-2.jhtml?id=1595673 and let me know what you think. He wrote three songs on the show, but settled on this one to put out. Good luck to him, he’s still pretty hot.
On Saturday Jeff was in Pleasanton all day running a booth for the Lion’s Club at the sequential. I had been hyper all day and couldn’t wait for him to get home so we could go do something. We had dinner (bet you can’t guess where) then headed to Tim & Terri’s. It was great to to hang out with Teresa and especially Juan who we don’t get to see very often anymore. It had been awhile since I heard his robust laugh and it made me smile, even though he’s a tattle tale. After Teresa and Juan left for the evening, we left for the Oasis with Tim & Terri. You know every time I walk into the Oasis I hear a song in my head, but it’s not always the same song. Like Saturday I heard, “I Love This Bar” by Toby Keith. Last week it was the theme song from Cheers and sometime it’s “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks. Anyway, I digress. Harvey was asked to start a blog column for us and we hope to start Harvey’s Corner soon. Look for it hopefully sometime this week.

Once we got back in Southridge, my theory on the Bandit was proved without a doubt. I can’t post some of the pictures, cause well, and let’s just say we are repenting. I just want to say I’m really sorry about your poor skeleton Tim. No Halloween decoration should ever be treated in such a way.Wednesday is our buddy Terri’s birthday. I hope she has a fabulous week and a weekend without contamination threat from the Bandit! Ah! Cobras!!!!

Once the gang came back from the Oasis Friday Kelly & Janie came running, but I started hearing that song "I'll be there!" from Baywatch! Too funny. Saturday evening was quite funny and had a good time. That poor skeleton will never be the same, might want to sanitise it before you put it out Tim. Happy Birthday Terri!
yes, another great...sleep deprived weekend. really looking forward to this next one, trying to go to bed an hour early every night to have a few extra in my sleep bank!
