Well Happy Saint Patty's Day everyone! This week the sun has decided to come back out after a few days of nothing but rainy, cold, ugly weather. Now it's starting to look a little more like Spring Break than Christmas vacation outside. For most people that's a good thing. Janie is off to Colorado, James is taking the boys camping, and the neighborhood is filled with sound of kids happy not to be in school. Then you have Terri and I who are not so happy. Terri's Spring Break was last week and I'm sure she would much rather be home than back at work. Then there is me, who somehow got herself roped into working for her husband this week. Yes, that is right. After ten years of marriage, Jeff can finally say he is the boss of me. Oh, how did this ever happen?
I guess in a way it is a good thing Terri went back to work though. I was beginning to develop dark circles under my eyes. Tim and Terri forced Jeff and I to go to The Oasis for karaoke on Thursday even though we thoroughly protested. They really can be quite evil at times. On the way out of the subdivision we noticed a travel trailer rolling in and sure enough, it was James coming home from Oklahoma. We tried to get him to go with us, but guess Kelly beat him to the punch because she showed up at The O about thirty minutes later along with Gary and Brad. Needless to say, we had a great time and can't wait to do it all over again this week.
On Friday we slept, then napped, ate some greasy food, and napped again before going to bed.
Saturday Jeff and I headed for San Antonio in search of alligator meat, but first we decided to have lunch at a place my sister-in-law Debbie suggested. Genghis Grill is located at the northeast corner of 1604 & 281, behind the Men's Warehouse. This place is great! The waiter brings you a bowl and you walk through a line filling the bowl with whatever you want in your stir fry. First is the meat station with all different kinds of beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. On our first bowl we stacked on the shrimp, calamari, and scallops. Then you arrive at the veggie station where you find just about any kind of veggie you can think of to put in a stir fry. I chose bamboo shoots, watercress, onions, spinach, and mushrooms, ohhhhh lots of mushrooms. After picking your seasoning from about twelve choices you move onto the sauce choices. Thank goodness there were tasting spoons there, I had no idea what some of the sauces were. You then choose your starch, tortillas, rice, or noodles and hand your filled bowl to the chef, who in turn hands you a number. In a few minutes your custom stir fry comes to your table. I had decided within a few bites that I would have to go for the Bottomless Bowl this time around because the sauce I had chosen for my first bowl was shall we say a bit spicy. The next trip through Jeff and I both choose the marinated beef and we are so glad we did, yummy.
We found ourselves at the Exotic Meat Market on 410 looking at kangaroo patties. Yep, apparently Cletus meat taste good and is good for you. Any time your in the mood for Yak meat, alligator tail, rattlesnake (even though it isn't in season now) or any other weird stuff, this is the place to find it. With our alligator meat in hand, we hit HEB, then headed back for Southridge.
After stuffing ourselves with fried alligator, gumbo, bacon wrapped oysters, and boudaine sausage Kelly & James joined us. Then a bit later Clint and some buddies showed up while Jeff and Tim hogged the Wii controllers. Boys you really need to learn how to share your toys or we are going to have to take them away from you. Later in the night it got really funny when the boys decided the game wasn't difficult enough for them so they started adding aspects to the game, like rolling on the ground before you throw your bowling ball. Yep again! Jeff and Tim were rolling around on the garage floor, even trying some break dancing moves, while attempting to knock all the pins down. Oh boy, even as I write this I am sighing. Boys, boys, boys, they never grow up.

We made almost all the way through the weekend without any incidents when a familiar black Trans Am was spotted beside Teresa's house. We tried to catch the Bandit and his gang, but unfortunately they made a speedy escape. Below are photos of the havoc they brought to the neighborhood while Teresa was out of town. Our deepest sympathies go out to Teresa and her house. Wonder what the T & B stands for?

Hope everyone has a fabulous week and please be careful, there are a lot of crazies on the road. Also I would like to call to everyone's attention that the Crawfish Boil has been set for May 16th, that is sixty-one days away. We need to have a board meeting as soon as possible. Everyone knows that I'm anal about planning, I'm a planner, sorry. So I think that all board members should set a time either this weekend or early next week to discuss our plans. If your not able to make it we are going to have to make you suck crawfish heads!
