Wild Game Dinner Gets Wild

Oh where to begin! I guess I should start with the weekend of February 21st when the Deatleys came into town to go to the rodeo. Thanks to Terri for the tickets and for thinking of us. We all headed to the rodeo to go see Cross Canadian Ragweed. We had a really great time eating lots of really greasy food, petting the animals, and Cameron even found a chair he wants. I think I would like to place my order for the buzzy chair as well. The kids got to see a giant rooster and I got to pet a pig. What else could we ask for?
This weekend we all attended as Juan & Sonya renewed their vows. I may be biased, but I think Sonya is one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. It was such a nice ceremony and I loved the look on Juan’s face when he realized that Sonya had “blinged out” his ring. I’m so glad we were a part of their special day.

Unfortunately Jeff & I didn’t get to go to the reception afterwards. We had to head over to the show barn for the Lions Club Annual Wild Game Dinner. For those who have never been to the Game Dinner, it is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year. Ticket prices range from $100 to $125 a couple depending on if you want a “special” table or not. Take ours for instance; we had a sign with “Southridge Society” on it, a beautifully decorated table for eight, and a gift basket. We are special. The price also includes all your food, drinks, dance, and auction. Yes, that means open bar. The Lions Club did something a little different this year though; they allowed people to come after 9:00 PM for $25 each to attend the dance only. Not a bad deal. I was so happy to see my BFF Jodi and her husband Don. I hope they had a great time and that we didn’t scare them too much. Hope yall will make it back for next year’s dinner. I think next year we can get enough people together to have two tables, at least. I’m going (in the future) to post a signup sheet for couples who would like to go in on one of the tables. Let’s see how many Southridge can fill.

A big congratulations to Kurt & Nicole on their engagement! We are very happy for you!
I guess we should have known that with an open bar at the Wild Game Dinner, things would get, shall we say interesting! Between the guy’s kung pow poses, the girls gang signs, and Cletus’s private parts I’m sure we got more than a few strange looks during the night. I’m mean come on though! Anytime you have an open bar and a stuffed kangaroo, things are gonna happen.

Next we went to the Oasis and closed it down. I think the pictures are a little self explanatory, besides, I’m not the best person to report what happened there. I am aware however that I won the T&B bet for the night. Told you Tim!
We ended up at a party in Pleasanton at Joanie & Victor’s house. Just would have been nice if Joanie would have actually still been awake when we got there. Oh well, when you’re tired, your tired.

Till next week my peeps!

Juan & Sonya had a great wedding, sorry we missed the reception. The WGD was a blast. I don't know if the group has been away from the "Ridge" that long on a Saturday night. The neighbors were pleased I am sure. NO weed eating.
