This weekend Jeff, Jessica, Quincy, and I left Thursday afternoon to head to my cousin Bobby's house to get a head start on visiting time for my family reunion. This year was my cousin Larry's turn to host the event and let me tell you, he did a fabulous job. I'm so jealous! Even though we had a small group this year we all had a blast and I was so happy to see everyone's faces!
Before we left for Houston, Jeff & I emptied our liquor cabinet and took about twenty bottle of different alcohol for the trip. Now I heard several people refer to us as "alcoholics" cause we had so many bottles. I beg to differ. If we were alcoholics, wouldn't we have drank all the alcohol instead of trying to get rid of it? Ha ha. Once we finally got to my cousin's house on Thursday, we had some cocktails with Bobby & Nicole beside the beautiful fire Nicole had built for us. Thanks Nicole, you did a great job while Bobby watched. Little Larry (as we refer to him, that's him in the driver's seat above.) decided to host the reunion at Lake Livingston and we arrived there Friday afternoon. I had never seen Lake Livingston before and it was really pretty, but if you go, stay away from Jerry's restaurant in town. My jumbo shrimp were actually pop corn shrimp and Jeff's rib eye was actually cube steak. Not that I'm bitching.
Friday after dinner we visited, played games, and reminisced about the old days. I think everyone was trying to take it easy though, save up their energy for Saturday night.
During the day Saturday Bobby took us for a ride on his pontoon boat after removing all the bees nests from the motor. Poor boat. I can take care of it for you when your out of town if you'd like. Just out of the kindness of my sweet little heart. Ain't it pretty? You know though Bobby, there is a chance if you let me take care of it for you, you run the chance of having "Bandit" written on it when you get it back. Either that or a rainbow flag painted on the canopy and "Southridge" written down both sides. On second thought, maybe you ought to keep it stored, just give Nicole the keys every now and then. Big Bully!
After everyone got cleaned up and ready to go, we headed to the club house of Lake Livingston Holiday Villages for dinner and to party. These people know how to cater baby. Instead of little baby portions of everything we got huge spoon fulls of tators, green beans, gravy, and a nice size chicken fried steak. For dessert we enjoyed banana pudding, which by the way does not mix well with Tequila shots. Speaking of Tequila shots, Nicole had made Bobby special edition bottles. Look closely at the picture below. Notice anything special about the labels? She's so talented! Bobby and Nicole brought a bottle for everyone, just one catch, you had to do a shot to get one. Now most people know I don't do well with shots, but I did pretty good. No hickups. Yeay!
Now as you can see Little Bob also had his yearly costume. Every year we look forward to seeing what crazy outfit he will be wearing. I think this one is about equal to the pregnant nun with a cigar in one hand and mixed drink in the other. We love you, you little weirdo!
Everything was going along just fine, lots of dancing and quality time with the kids. Then Jeff got on stage and ran them all off. Yep, that right. Jeff can't go one week without performing "I'm Too Sexy." I'm glad to see everyone enjoyed it but I think there were a few people who enjoyed it a little too much. My cousin Cindy was the first on stage with a dollar for El Jefe, followed by Aunt Carole's friend who looked like she was trying to unbutton his pants rather than give him a dollar. Uh, that's gonna cost you a little more than a dollar ma'am. I'm not sure what Rodney was doing, but trust me, this was by far not the weirdest thing he would do all night. And of course Lil Bob had to get on stage with a little something in his hand, but I think he was just trying to run Jeff off stage.

It was a great night, thanks Little Larry! Rodney, I hope your knees are going okay & you need to make Lil Bob stop treating you like that! Can't wait to see you and Loreli on Thursday. I love you all so much and I'm very blessed to be apart of such a wonderful family. Can't wait to see all your faces again!
