Spring has sprung people and I am so glad it has. The flowers are begining to come back, everyone is working on their gardens, butterflies are taking flight, and the Bandit has reemerged after being in hiding for months. More on that story later.
This week was a milestone for Jessica. She got her braces off, got her retainer, and filed for her passport. Not to mention she will be taking her driving permit test again soon. (Don't Ask) I can't believe my little baby is growing up so quickly and I really can't believe we are all going to be sharing the road with her soon. Watch out people, this girl has been forced to watch Nascar since she was born!
Let us begin with a slow Friday night in Southridge, but a more energetic Saturday. Saturday Jeff and I spent most of the day picking out flowers, buying potting soil, and working hard to win Yard Of The Month this summer. We will get it this year, if Teresa can do it, so can we.
Saturday we had plans to go to the Oasis for karaoke in honor of a few birthdays. Harvey normally is against karaoke on the weekends, but when special people request it for special occasions he happily agrees. A big happy birthday to Betty and Gaylen! So Jeff, Terri, Tim, and I headed to the Oasis to dazzle everyone with our singing talents. We were really happy to see Richard and Regina were able to make the festivities even though they didn’t get up to sing. That’s ok; I know how intimidating our glorious voices can be. I’m so happy they were able to experience Jeff’s rendition of “I’m Too Sexy.” This is something everyone has to see at least once in their life, probably not anymore than that though. Even though Jeff was unable to jump onto the speaker this weekend so he could shake his tush above everyone else, it was a good performance and he made five dollars.

It looks like Tim is really straining to fart in the picture below. In reality, he was doin his "Man Of Constant Sorrow" dance. Love that dance!!!
After the Oasis we headed back to Southridge with Richard and Regina in tow, when we noticed something strange. After checking video surveillance we discovered that the Bandit Gang had indeed been up to no good in the neighborhood again. The Bandit first struck the Sizemore household by disgracefully replacing their beautiful American flag, with a multi colored rainbow flag which represents gay and lesbian Americans. The Bandit Gang also must think he is way above the law because he left his signature painters tape message reading, “Bandit Rocks.” I guess the gang wasn’t done yet because they then turned their attention to Gary’s truck as it sat silent without bothering anyone. The Gang attached a device they have used before to the back of Gary’s truck. The device forces the horn to honk every time the brakes are pressed or a turn signal is used. It’s really quite embarrassing. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the callousness of these brutal property attacks. Unfortunately the only thing that was able to be identified in the surveillance videos was the brand of beer the Gang was drinking. Be on the lookout for men in baggy pants drinking cheap beer.
Don’t forget that Chalk Bluff is not far away, so make sure you have all of your arrangements made. Also we need to have a Southridge board meeting to discuss the Crawfish Boil when everyone’s schedule permits. Hope everyone has a fabulous week.
